Icy cold and refreshing on a smokin' hot day.
When I buy bunches of fresh herbs I always freeze what I won't immediately use. Wash it, spin it dry, chop it up, put it into small jars, and freeze. Use it within 1 month or it starts getting gross.
1" piece of ginger, peeled and cut into small chunks
small handful of fresh mint, torn or chopped
a few leaves of fresh basil, chopped
1/8 tsp celtic salt
Place herbs in a tea pot. Pour 2-3 cups boiling water over it. Let steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain into a pitcher or large jar that will hold 2 litres. Fill with water. When cooled to room temperature, place in fridge. When nice and cold drink up.
Usually I dilute this again with 1/2 water and drink it all day. Sometimes we put a tsp of fresh lemon or lime juice in our glass before filling.
